Illuminated the wonderful gems hidden in the Sri Bhaktivedanta purports. My dear Śrīla Gurudeva,

Please accept my innumerable dandavat-pranams at your lotus feet.

The Ganges is a sacred river along every fragment of her length, which is 2,525 km. All along her course, pilgrims bathe in her waters, and pay a seemingly insignificant homage to her by cupping her water in their hands, lifting it and letting it fall back into her as an offering; they offer flowers and rose petals and float shallow clay dishes filled with oil and lit with wicks (diyas). “O spiritual master, O giver of divine wisdom, O friend of the fallen, you are the giver of your own bliss and you are the only ocean of mercy. Although dwelling in Vrindavana, you have descended for the welfare of fallen souls like myself and you are preaching the divine love of Radha for Krishna. Please be kind upon me.”

Please award me service at your lotus-like feet, which are the proprietors of devotional service. Please place me in the ocean of joy by bestowing upon me happiness in the mellows of service at the feet of Sri Radha in the groves of Vraja Dhama.”

Dear Guru Maharaja,

I offer my dandavat pranams at your lotus feet. Again and again.

Gurudeva,I don’t have the qualification to glorify you.Who am I to try,who still cannot control the six urges.

Gurudeva, all I can do is just beg for your mercy so as I can get your association.
By having your association I may develop the senses by which I can understand your glories in full. Continue reading “From Yamuna Vihari Devi Dasi”

Dear Guru Maharaja,

I offer my humble dandavats in the dust of your lotus feet.

I had very little association with my Gurudeva, Srila Prabhupada, but he mercifully sent you to teach me further on the path. As there is no difference between the diksa-guru and the siksa-guru, I accepted you as non different from Srila Prabhupada, as you gave me what he couldn’t give me personally. Sometimes the siksa-guru may become more important than the diksa-guru. You did and actually became my main guru.

Dear Gour Govinda Maharaja
Hare Krishna. Please, accept my humble dandavat pranams.

I was not so fortunate to receive your direct association, but my beloved Gurudeva gave me under the care of your faithful disciple, Sripad Bhaktivedanta Shuddhadvaiti Maharaj. I was fortunate enough to travel with him trying to serve Gurudeva and had a lot of opportunities to hear your hari-katha from him. But it was never enough, because through this hari-katha I felt that I start to develop relationships with you, so much so, that now I accept you as one of my beloved siksa Gurus.

Dear Srila Gour Govinda Swami,

Please accept my most humblest obeisances unto your lotus feet.

I am not a scholar. Neither a poet. Not a great writer. Nor can I claim to know you intimately. I cannot pretend I am someone special or dear to you just by writing some flowery words on paper on this day (so that the people in general can see how ‘devoted’ I am). That won’t fool you. And of course I cannot really glorify you properly anyway, as whatever is written by me here will fall short.

Dear Guru Maharaja,
please accept my humble dandavat pranams in the dust of your lotus feet.

Whenever this holy day of your disappearance comes back, it’s a bitter-sweet experience. Bitter, because how to replace your most wonderful person? Even though I have met sadhus after you left, and closely associated with them, the special flavor of your personal association is so unique, that it cannot be forgotten nor matched. As I am wandering the earth, trying, as an instrument, to distribute our acaryas’ mission, whenever I hear your name, I catch myself containing the emotions and tears swelling up inside, remembering how you gave me so much! You took the time to try to weed out anarthas from my heart, but how little did I gave you in return! How did I allow the years to roll by without taking more advantage of your teachings and mercy? The Mood of A Sadhu

The Heart of Siddhanta

With today being Srila Gour Govinda Swami’s disappearance day, I thought that it seemed to be an ideal time to glorify sadhu and guru. The only problem with that, of course, due to my own fallen nature, is that a worm in stool such as me doesn’t really have the ability to glorify a sadhu. One can really only glorify a sadhu by following the instructions given by the sadhu and becoming a sadhu oneself. By becoming glorious we practically demonstrate sadhu’s glorious mercy.
